Justin Timberlake left fans furious after he canceled his show at the Prudential Center in Newark on Tuesday, Oct. 8, less than an hour before doors were set to open.
"I'm so sorry to postpone tonight's show. I have an injury that is preventing me from performing," Timberlake wrote on Instagram. "I'm so disappointed to not see you all - but I'm working to reschedule ASAP. I promise to make it up to you and give you the show y'all deserve ❤ Thank you guys for understanding. Appreciate your support always."
Timberlake was performing in Newark as part of his The Forget Tomorrow tour, which he famously referenced during his DUI stop on Long Island earlier this year.
His post appeared at 5:45 p.m. Doors were set to open at 6:30 p.m. with a showtime of 7:30 p.m.
While Timberlake thanked fans for understanding, concertgoers did not seem too sympathetic.
"dude. u couldnt do this hours ago?" one fan wrote on his Instagram page.
"You should have waited a little longer to cancel. Seriously? Drove two hours for this," another wrote.
"Is this a joke?" a disgruntled fan wrote. "The doors open in 30 minutes."
Timberlake performed at Barclays Center the night before on Monday, Oct. 7. Additional details about his injury have not been disclosed. He is set to perform in Philadelphia on Friday, Oct. 11.
The Prudential Center said they are working with Timberlake's team on a rescheduled date and are hoping have information on as soon as possible.
The former *NSYNC star performed at Prudential Center on Saturday, Sat. 28 as part of Audacy's We Can Survive concert to benefit anti-suicide prevention.
